Given the traffic, the people in the both the Dutch and French lowlands are staying closer to home and that has been a boon to the restaurants in the area. Some old favorites are doing quite well. Mario's Bistro is still one of the hottest places on the island. Le Santal is in a class by itself, with a private parking lot (with valet service), great views, great food, great wines, and prices to match. Le Chalet serves fondue, raclette, and pierrade (cooking on a stone at your table), all inexpensive and good. La Cigale also has many admirers. Looking for great BBQ or Créole food? Stop in at Rocky's, next to the US Import Supermarché.
